Teriyaki rooster
Carry genuine Japanese flavours to your dinner desk with this candy and tangy home made teriyaki rooster. Prep the rooster beforehand and also you’ll have this tasty after-work meal whipped up very quickly.
Elements8-10 rooster thigh fillets 1/3 cup kecap manis 1 tbsp chilli garlic sauce 1 tbsp sesame oil For the teriyaki sauce: (makes approx 1 cup) 1/4 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup mirin 1/4 cup cooking sake 1 tbsp brown sugar 1 tbsp honey

MethodologyStep 1. Marinate rooster in kecap manis, chilli garlic and sesame oil for a number of hours or in a single day. Step 2. Preheat barbecue to excessive. Step 3. Barbecue rooster for 8 minutes on both sides or till cooked and barely charred. Chop into chunk sized items and pour over 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce. Step 4. To make teriyaki sauce, place all elements in a pot. Carry to the boil and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or till sauce begins to thicken. Serves 6-8.
